Thunder Clap Against Wildlife Crime

by | 27-02-2015 12:49

There is a substantial and largely irreversible loss in the diversity of life on earth , with some 10-30% of the mammal, bird and amphibian species threatened with extinction, due to human actions.(Millenium Ecosystem Assesment,2005)
Also 75% of genetic diversity of agricultural crops has been lost,75% of the world?s fisheries are fully or over exploited.Up to 70% of the world?s known species risk extinction if the global temperatures rise by more than 3.5?
1/3rd of reef-building corals around the world are threatened with extinction.Over 350 million people suffer from severe water scarcity.(IUCN,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo51Re1JO4U)
The global status of species is declining every other day. They are due to habitat destruction, over exploitation, illegal trades,,climate change, pollution, invasive species and many more reasons. If it shall continue like this than the many eco-system will destabilize. And while it takes no time for destruction it does take million years for restoration.
Actions are required before it's too late.We dont want more species to vanish from the world, forests to disappear and finally Eco-system be destroyed.I wrote this article to ask you all to join the #Thunderclap to add your voice on #DigitalRoar initiated by www.wildlifeday.org so that we can add little step against #wildlifecrime and little step towards their #conservation. Join it on https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/22098-get-seriousaboutwildlifecrime .Together let's get #SeriousAboutWildifeCrime.
