How often do you see the banners in the city area? A lot I guess. When we roam around the city area we see a lot of big banners about the products and movies and many more. And after around ten days they are replaced by other one. The old ones are just thrown away and if it is recycled, it is not recycled in a proper manner. A lot of resource goes into waste and the environment will be affected by it slowly and slowly. The paint which consists of lead is hazardous and affects our health badly. The increasing use of it makes me feel sad and I have to accept without being able to do something, that it will affect my and all others health in the long run. Especially the banners which are made for a day or two programs make me realize that we are all exploiting the waste. As I live in the capital city where there is rapid expansion of small and large scale business people make banners and change it from time to time for advertisement purpose. After around 15 days they get damaged and just nobody cares about recycling. I am more concerned about the movie posters which are pasted on the wall all over the city and replaced in an unorganized within the week the older one again wasted. The government does not have any strict policy regarding the use of banners and the respect of public property. So the people do not think twice before the increasing use of these banners and posters. In order to solve these problems I have been thinking of the installations of the digital boards at the public place. I have come to know about these taking places in the developed countries and I hope to see the same in the developing countries too. Although the initial cost may be more but it will sustainable and last for a longer period of time along with quality. Don't you people think so? What are your views? Please write your thoughts. |
