Climate change is the burning issues in the present context and it is affecting the different parts and sectors including the food, their health, housing and overall the lifestyles of the people as well as all the creatures in the earth. We can see the effects of the climate change and its impact in the day to day life of the people. So all the people should be made aware about the climate change, what it is and how can we have the different programs and strategy for the mitigation of it and to get adapted to the changing environmental situation. In order to make aware about the climate change we organized awareness programs in the different schools of the Rupandehi and Chitwan districts in the support of the Climates and NYCA (Nepalese Youth for Climate Action).

The students of grade eight to ten were participated in the program, they were basically not properly known about the climate change and its affects in the human life. We first started the program with the introduction what climate change is and how is it occurring and then affecting our day to day activities. The different activities of human is causing this problems such as the harmful gases coming out of vehicles and industries, also from households by using fire woods are increasing in the atmosphere. They will trap in the ultra violet rays and increases the atmospheric temperature leading to the global warming. By increasing the temperature it will lead to the melting of ice in the mountains and increase the glacier flow with increase in the sea level. We also make them acquainted with the present status of the climate change work in the world and some of the efforts done in Nepal relating to the climate change. Also the climate change adaptation strategies and its mitigation process adapted at local level were discussed. And they said that the program has become more fruitful for them and they such programs should be continued so that the students gain more knowledge from that and could act collectively to mitigate the climate change and its effects on human livelihood.
