Recycle-thon on Global Divestment Day

by | 15-02-2015 23:47

On 14th of February which is observed as a Global divestment day and Valentine?s Day, I participated in a Recycle-thon to show my love towards our mother earth. I collected lots of recyclables from plastics, papers, even grocery bills, toilet rolls, empty tissue boxes, empty medicine bottles, cartons and so on. I segregated each and everything that was recyclable at our home.

I had spoken there on the creation of garbage on earth, mainly household should be minimized within the assimilating capacity of the Earth. Solid waste should be divided into recyclable and unrecyclable by each and every individual. As we know the recyclable waste is recycled into some useful material whereas non-recyclable wastes may be destroyed in some eco-friendly manner. If waste is not segregated it eventually lead to the pollution of environment and land.

Only eco-friendly measures of the activities of life should be followed as far as possible to our capacities to show our love towards our mother earth. Many children participated in the event which was very well organized by my fellow ambassador Rohan Kapur. I thanked Rohan for this wonderful initiative taken by him.

Many young enthusiasts had collected recyclables for the first time and were encouraged to collect recyclables on a regular basis. Souvenirs and a certificate were awarded to all the participants by Bee?ah in the recycle-thon. They were distributed to us by chief guest Anjum Hasan Ma?am, the 2014 eco hero of the Tunza.

I conclude by saying ?Live and let others live in mother earths lap?. Judicious use of resources in most efficient way in useful manner will make a country conserve its resources which itself will lead to sustainability. Saving the resources by not wasting them and saving the surplus resources of present so they will available more for future use for our future generations.
