Dear Eco-Generation members,
On 30th January 2014, I conducted yet again a successful awareness event using Tunza Eco-Generation promotion goods as Tunza Eco-Generation?s 13th Regional Ambassador to the Middle East.
I did this as a participant in the Clean Up Sharjah Campaign, which invited participants of all ages and I thought it was a great opportunity and relevant audience to talk to about environmental Waste and litter management at a whole nother level.
I started by pointing out the fact that during the Clean Up, we did not find much litter at all! Even if we did, it was only bits and tatters of municipal waste. This was because we, the citizens, residents, tourists, children, our parents and all those who are in the UAE, have become aware of the cons of littering.
The United Arab Emirates is a very clean country. Everyone, all over the world points this out. No doubt, it is true! But if we look at the root cause of this cleanliness that is appreciated by all, we will find that it is because the government employs workers and spends money on this cleanliness. If all of us, were to realize the importance of a green and beautiful environment, then the government of all the 7 emirates can spend that money on other inevitable and important things such as education, biodiversity, technological and infrastructural developments, etc. This is the message that we should be spreading the world over.
Then I introduced Tunza Eco-Generation to them as a platform that can give many other messages such as these and allows networking of people from all over the globe. I gave the promotional goods to all the efficient listeners.
I also conducted an Eco-Quiz amongst the audience, with two very special gifts as prizes. Everyone participated enthusiastically and I was happy to know that even the youngest of children were extremely knowledgeable about the environment. The winner of the Eco-Generation Recycled Paper notebook was Aarush Kalra. And, the winner of the Tunza Eco-Generation Card USB was Swathy Sanjay Sindhu, an active environmentalist and a member of Tunza Eco-Gen. Aarush was only 9 years old!
In the end, I presented a Eco-Friendly Bag from Eco-Generation to the organizer as a token of appreciation. In a nutshell, it was an enthusiastic venture and everyone promised that they will make an account on Eco-Generation and become the Eco-Warriors! |
