Flash Mob- Demanding Action for Commitments

by | 20-12-2014 22:38

Following recent COP 20 held in Lima, Peru different organizations like Nepalese youth for Climate Action- Chitwan, Nepal Friendship Society, Raise Hands Nepal, Rotaract Club of Narayangarh, TEM etc. jointly organized the Flash Mob in December 20, 2014 with a theme of Demanding Action for Commitments towards Climate Change.

There was active participation of about 50 youths from different above mentioned eco- clubs. We all put on mask to symbolize we have heard a lot,we don't want to add just voices but we want to see visible actions towards climate change. We all hold placards with different messages and pledges and walked silently from Chaubiskoti to Saheed Chowk, Chitwan Nepal (about 1.5 km) Then at the heart of busy city we displayed our messages for 10 minutes to the crowd. Chairman of some eco- clubs gave a short insight about anthropogenic climate change.

The Flash Mob was mainly targeted as a mobilizing youth for pledging global leaders to take action now, tomorrow will be too late and to share common but differentiated responsibilities towards climate action. People walking around asked us about our flash mob and its objectives. We clarified them in simple words. It was my opportunity to facilitate the entire Flash Mob.
