![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Today I would like to share a very interesting topic among all of you that is gaining attention among many environmental enthusiasts and healthy eaters. Recently, I have witnessed many natural and organic products being sold and displayed in markets and expos in Dubai and Sharjah which is facilitating to achieve the goal of UAE to go green. These markets and expos are aimed at propagating the goodness of eating vegetarian and quitting non-vegetarian which is the single most effective way to save our environment. I visited the Organic Ripe Food and Craft Market at Zabeel Park, Dubai. Some of the organic vegetables, fruits and products that were on display were grown in local farms while others were imported internationally. The best part was that the customers were extremely willing to buy the organic products after having known the benefits of eating organic produce. The few products that I noticed during my visit were organic fresh fruits, organic vegetables including kiwis, sweet potatoes, apples and cheese. Freshly squeezed fruit juices and family packs which consisted of small bread, fruits and vegetables which also garnered a lot of attraction. The best part about these products was that they were sold at reasonable prices. The few important verities that draws my attention were: 1. Morninga Oleifera —In India and the subcontinent, it is known as Sonjhana or the drumstick tree. 2. Carrots, and even eggs of corn-fed chickens. 3. Baobab, that bears the feel good fruit loaded with vitamin C. 4. Chromolaena Obdorata-plant having anti-ageing properties. 5. Products made of snake grass like, snake grass tea and capsules believed to have a cancer preventive properties. 6. Agarwood, wheatgrass, Graviola and many more varieties were on display in various stalls. Organic food is a very efficient method to counter the global environmental problems our world is facing today. This is because when organic farming is practiced, pesticides and insecticides are not used and also the farming technique carried out prevents soil erosion and helps to conserve water. This environmental friendliness is packed with a mouth-watering taste that is otherwise not found in the fruits and vegetables not grown organically. After my visit to the Organic Ripe Food and Craft market, I realized that to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle, it is necessary for all of us to eat organic which is also good for our health. |
