To show my patriotism for the country which has generously been housing thousands of expatiates, I participated in EMAAR National Day Parade on November 29, 2014, from 3 to 5pm.

Celebrating ?The Spirit of the Union,? this event is one of the most-awaited and attended UAE National Day events. It was a 2.4 km parade which took place on the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.

I had attended the parade representing my environmental youth group, ?Green Globe?. The event had about 5000 participants, and a humongous crowd of 15000 people witnessing the parade.

The main attractions of the parade were the floater balloons, military men on horseback, the Dubai police?s fleet of super-cars and several cultural and traditional dance performances.

The event saw attendees from all walks of life, people from different age groups, vehicles, animals etc. We were allocated tents where we prepared for the parade. We proudly walked dressed in UAE outfits, along with colourful UAE flags. We were also given a huge Earth floater Balloon, signifying Green Globe.

The parade saw nearly 50 Green Globe members with pride in national identity attending the parade. Memebrs as young 3yrs participated enthusiastically in the parade. We carried many environmental posters, banners etc. to create awareness among the people watching the parade.

In all, it was a wonderful and cherishable experience.
