I hope you guys are doing well and filled with the same passion for environmental awareness that has defined our journey together. As I pen down these words, I am overwhelmed with mixed emotions, for February marks not only the end of the month but also the last month I will serve as Nepal's TUNZA Regional Ambassador. The news of the discontinuation of the Tunza program has cast a bittersweet hue over my reflections. I cannot help but express my gratitude for the incredible experiences, shared stories, and collaborative efforts we've undertaken to raise environmental awareness. It has been a privilege to be a part of this community that strives for a sustainable and harmonious planet. My journey took a significant turn when, inspired by the spirit of Tunza, I founded a non-profit organization called "Lakshya Nepal." Lakshya Nepal was founded to address climate change in Nepal, focusing on global warming and achieving net-zero CO2 emissions. Our mission included imparting environmental awareness to rural Nepali students. With Tunza's support, we celebrated Nepal's culture, conducting seminars in schools about the Circular Economy and AI-led innovation. The enthusiastic response affirmed our belief in the youth's role in a sustainable future. I firmly believe that the end of my tenure as Nepal's TUNZA Regional Ambassador doesn't mark the end of our collective journey but signifies a new phase of growth and collaboration. While the Tunza program may be discontinuing, the spirit of environmental advocacy remains alive within each one of us. Now, Shifting gears to a broader perspective, beyond our individual journeys, let's explore what more we can collectively do to enhance environmental awareness on a global scale. Initiatives such as fostering international collaborations, promoting sustainable practices, and advocating for policy change can collectively contribute to a more environmentally conscious world. In my view, To effectively raise environmental consciousness in Nepal, a diversified strategy is needed. Important actions include working with nearby communities, including environmental education into the national curriculum, and putting sustainable practices into the beautiful landscapes. For long-term effects, it is also essential to support policies that address Nepal's particular environmental problems, like deforestation and water pollution. Through the integration of internationally recognized best practices with customized, localized approaches, we can cultivate a heightened environmental consciousness across Nepal |
