![]() Students in India are buzzing with ideas that can positively impact our environment but do have an opportunity to express them. On 2014, while on my summer vacations to India, I conducted two Tunza Eco-Generation promotional events on the topic, ?Environmental Issues? under the theme ?Save Water, Grieve Later. The motive was to throw light on the present environmental issues and introduce them to Tunza, an ideal platform for them to raise their voice and concerns. I gave a lecture with the help of a PowerPoint presentation. It covered the following topics:
I conducted these lectures among some selected students of Grades 9 and 10 in KC Vidyalayam and as well among the students of Grades 1 – 9 in Pandugudi Sri Lakshmi Narayana CBSE Vidyalaya. These schools are located in the Madurai District of Tamil Nadu in India. I used a projector which I had bought exclusively to create awareness among the youth, to show a PowerPoint presentation to give them a clearer picture. The students were very enthusiastic to know about the steps we can take towards a greener environment at home and at school. I also proposed to them an idea of starting a Eco Committee. I also inaugurated the Environment Club in KC school. Being the coordinator of the Eco Club in my school, I also did a promotional event among the members of the Eco Club (Environment Club). Here I enlightened them mainly on Tunza. I spoke to them about its History, Monthly Events, Ambassador Program, and GYELS. I also conducted a quiz on Tunza at the end of my presentation and gave bloc notes to those who answered it correctly. All these events were enriching and informative experiences to myself as well as those who benefited from these. |
