![]() ![]() As per various reports on this forum highlighting the giant strides taken by UAE to develop & maintain sustainable energy behavior in its economy, it clearly shows the commitment of the country. In this report I?ll try to showcase the steps UAE is taking to fund such projects for developing nations of the world. It implies that apart from being responsible for themselves, they are benevolent and take care of the sustainable development for the developing nations as well. For developing nations it is difficult to fund the high initial investment for going green. In the long run, the investment pays back by savings & cost reductions. UAE helps them by funding on marginal interest rates so that they can go green & later on pay back easily. Funding Nearly 1.5 Billion US$, 22 projects have been shortlisted by Abu Dhabi Development Fund [ADFD]. This was duly done as per the coordination with International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena). Project applications were represented by Asia, Africa, Latin America & SIDS, all developing economies.
The projects include solar PV (photovoltaic) broadening energy access, geothermal energy on-grid, small hydropower for small communities, hybrid solar and wind energy for rural electrification and bio pellet production combined with solar to reduce deforestation.
The countries who does not have access to funds for Green project will be benefitted by these initiatives of UAE govt.
