CLEAN AIR CONCERT 2014

by | 10-11-2014 14:39

This event is aligned with the celebration of the National Clean Air Month, National Environmental Awareness Month and National Climate Change Consciousness Week. The theme was Ayoko Mag-Gas Mask (which means I don't want to wear Gas Mask). It was started with an exhibit of stuffs like bags made from recyclable materials collection of Clean Air Stuffs like shirts. An environmental youth forum was organized by the Environmental Management Bureau to open the eyes of the youth to a greater scope of environmental protection and sustainability, climate change, pollution, importance of clean air and the ways on how to make it clean. Environmental videos and documentaries were presented while waiting for the time to start the concert. The concert was comprised of different famous bands and artists in the Philippines like Imago, Kitchie Nadal, Lou Bonnevie, and Callalily. They performed new songs and their famous hits together with their campaign for the clean air. Four beauty queens attended the event to signify their passion for the environment. Student and youth leaders, including myself, were able to participate and imply our interest in youth empowerment and clean air. And I raised the question, "What can we do to have a cleaner air? What can individuals like us-ordinary citizens do to help?"
