In the morning of 11-Nov-2014 Dubai will roll-out another sustainable mode of transport in Dubai i.e. Dubai Tram. This project was awarded in 2008 & now it is ready for operation.

The length of Dubai Tram in 10.60 KMs & it will cover New Dubai areas like Marina, Knowledge Village, Media City & Al Sufouh. Knowledge Village consists of many colleges & other educational institutions. Also Media city is visited by a large number of persons every day. Finding a parking place is very difficult in these areas on working days. The traffic is quite congested.

We hope that advent of Tram will serve the population living near to the route as well as persons living in far flung areas. This is for the reason that Tram is connected with Dubai Metro & Palm Jumeirah Mono Rail. It will be an integrated RTA (Road & Transport Authority of Dubai) service. A commuter may take a bus, train & tram & travel on all three modes with a single travel card.

I have a sentimental attachment with this project as our team of Serve The Heroes – An Initiative For Laborers has served the workers working on this project by visiting the various stations under construction & serving them with refreshments.
