Every year wetlands day is celebrated on February 2 to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands for people and our planet. The theme for 2023 is Wetlands Restoration. Wetlands play a special role in preserving the food chain and are essential components of ecosystems. Several species of wildlife including migratory birds and aquatic animals can be observed in wetlands. Nowadays, Wetlands have been facing various threats due to the impacts of climate change, anthropogenic activity, infrastructure development, pollution, etc. which leads to the rapid deterioration of the wetlands.

It is time to cooperate on restoring of wetlands. Wetland restoration is crucial for a wide range of reasons.
