Through various reports & other media, we all get updates on the undeterred commitment of UAE towards environmental sustainability. Today to my pleasant surprise I received an e-mail from du (Telecom Operator of UAE) as I have its mobile connection. 

They have provided recent sustainability report covering the period from 1 January - 31 December 2013.

The mail stated, ..

Preparing this report has encouraged us to think hard about what are the environmental and social issues that are really important for us - this will help us use our key strengths in areas where we can really make a difference. We welcome you to read this report and learn more about the exciting things we are doing as a responsible business. 

This year's report is special as it is in accordance with the latest edition of the Global Report Initiative guidelines - the G4. This is the first GRI G4 Comprehensive sustainability report globally by a telecom operator. The report also meets the UN Global Compact requirements of a GC-Advanced report, making us the first telecom company from a non-European country to submit such a report.

It is beyond doubt that I felt elated & proud to be a part of such a responsible society where the environmental issues are taken seriously.

It becomes our bonded duty to provide our undeterred support to this country for their continuous drives towards caring for environment.
