Soap Making Tutorial from Used Cooking Oil

From the previous report that I posted, I get a lot feedback and question regarding how to do the soap using used cooking oil. 


Hence, I decided to share it out here so everyone can actually implement or promote this in their respective country.


Basically these soap are suitable for household use such as dish washing, clothes washing, floor cleaning, washroom cleaning and so on. Soap make from used cooking oil are biodegradable and save our river and sea from water pollution. Moreover, it is cheap to make your own soap from used cooking oil that you have in your house. :D


Below are some of the photo of the process of soap making from used cooking oil.

1. Weigh 165g of Water into stainless steel cup.


2. Weigh 70g of Lye and insert carefully into water weighed.Let it cool down to 45?C.

  * Be cautious that the temperature of water may increase drastically during this steps.

  * Handle a lye with a protective gloves and eyes mask is a must.  Stir in a well ventilated place.

3. Filter the oil using sieve and weigh 500g of used cooking oil into another stainless steel pot and heat it to 45?C.

4. Carefully pour the lye solution into the oil and stir with a regular pace until ?tracing? occur.

 

5. Add vinegar or scent oil if desired.

6. Pour it into the mould such as yogurts cup,milk containers and so on.

7. Remove the soap from the mould  carefully using gloves after 2 days and let it air dry.


8. The soaps are ready to use after 5 weeks! :)
