As a part of "Smart Dubai " concept and in line with Dubai's vision to become one of the most sustainable cities by 2020 , DEWA(Dubai Electricity & Water Authority) has announced setting up of charging stations for electric cars in 6 of their offices initially and over 100 charging stations in a span of 2 years. Though electric cars do not need the normal maintenance works required by the internal combustion cars, long hours of charging them is a big concern among users. Easy access to charging stations across the emirate is expected to prompt car users to switch to electric cars, thereby reducing the energy consumption and pollution in Dubai. Source : |
