Weeding, Manuring and Continuing our duties

Trees provide us oxygen, trees absorb carbon dioxide and various other compound, trees provide us shade, hold our underground water, protects us from so many natural disasters as well. If so then why don?t we take care of trees and optimize the benefits from trees? Keeping this in mind, we launched weeding and manuring program at our local communities where trees were planted.

So we went to the areas where we planted trees few months back and we did the manual weeding using various tools and equipment. Weeds, often known as plant at the wrong place, compete with our main plants(in this case with trees)  and disrupt the proper growth of plants. So time to time weeds must be eradicate from the field for the proper growth of trees and plants. Keeping protection and conservation of environment in mind, we opted for manual weeding instead of chemical control method( which otherwise would have temporarily make the process easy but in long run degrade the soil condition and its ecosystem).

We used organic manure for the trees as they are eco-friendly. They help to add nutrients and bulk to the side. They also correct imbalances in the soil, make soil rich and retain moisture and nutrient for longer period of time.

At the same time we also encouraged local communities and school students to avoid the use of inorganic fertilizer, promote the use of organic manure, taught  them about benefits and proper way of managing planted trees and make them conscious about environment. One boy came up to us and said,?I will teach about methods of controlling weeds and stop my mom from buying those chemical fertilizers.? We  were very much delighted hear him making such commitment.

Certainly campaign like this provide us with obvious benefits we get from trees and make environment healthier, but importantly this provide us to work and interact with local communities and know how much aware they are about environment and climate change issues.

Kudos to wide participation of local communities and school students that making our program grand success. This has re-energised us to continue such programs and further launch plantation campaign (along with time to time weeding and manuring program) at various other location and make our environment clean, healthy and green.
