I started my journey of Power Shifter as an applicant but i was pulled to the management team. This was the beginning of my role as a power shifter. It was not the first time I was involved in the management team but this time, the feeling was different as I had to make sure the campaign would achieve its goal that would develop leadership skills and empower 100 youth to initiate creative movement against climate change. More than activism in itself, ?I am a Power shifter? campaign put an effort in developing capacity of youth and proliferated creative ideas for activism. 2.5 months? of training period was like a school of activism for all where power shifter learnt that activism is not just merely taking out rallies in the streets and running behind a voice without understanding the issue, rather it?s a process of persuasion and pressure to achieve what is right. After working on foundation for activism, power shifters are confident that they will be able to initiate a coordinated movement for climate justice in Nepal.

Being in the management team, I could feel the transformation of power in terms of knowledge, leadership skills, management of events and team building to the 100 youth from diverse background. This was the first time I saw youth from diverse background coming to same platform and fighting against the same environmental cause - climate change. Be it nursing, business or environment sector or just high school graduates, all have felt the change within themselves and have taken the lessons and memories for their lifetime. It was a moment of pride and happiness when I saw some of my junior fellows (from SchEMS) who did not prefer to be in the lime light, now, have explored themselves and evolved as inspiring leader those who lead by examples. I am quite hopeful that they will continue to explore themselves, use the existing network of power shift and lead creative activism against climate change.

Personally, after being involved in some of the projects initiated by myself and others that never became sustainable, my self confidence had dropped down while frustration added when my work was not bearing fruit as expected. Planning the events and actions and keep track of each activity of power shifters was never easy, but, energy and enthusiasm of youth in power shift has boosted up my confidence and taught me a lesson that, I still got time, I still have opportunities and there are people who have similar interest as mine and are ready to act rather than just talk.

From the management perspective, the bar has been raised, power shifters have attained a level of excellence, now it?s time to carry their energy and enthusiasm to another level and inspire other to be a power shifter. Unlike before I am quite confident that we will do it, we all power shifter will now influence people to look into their actions and act against climate change. We are the agent of change we are power shifter.
