Do you know what bees do?

by | 14-08-2014 20:47

Bees pollinate a significant majority of the world's food. In North America alone, honey bees pollinate nearly 95 kinds of fruits like apples, apricots, avocados, beets, blueberries, and etc. Moreover, honeybees don't just produce honey: the hard-working insect is also fundamental to the world's food supply.

But the downward spiral of honeybee populations — both wild and captive — has put all of all of that at risk. The number of managed colonies is declining nationwide because of new pressures including disease, parasites, and the phenomenon known as colony collapse disorder, when bees inexplicably disappear from their hives. The stresses of being trucked around the country thousands of mile each year to pollinate different orchards has also taken its toll.

As the world develops rapidly and the balanced eco system is fallen, bees don't have no more habitats to live safely and no more flowers to pollinate. Therefore, we should notice the importance of existence of bees and protect them.
