![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On 24th July, 2014 as a part of Sheikh Zayed Humanitarian Day celebrations, Green Globe went to Zenanth Recycling and Waste Management Labor Camp in Sonapur, Dubai. 12 Green Globe members including me were present to arrange the place for he labourers. The camp which accommodates about 275 people were given Iftar. Each of them were give a food packet consisting of Biryani, Samosa, Laban, Apple, Juice, Dates and Kanji (a kind of Rice Porridge). The workers were really happy to see us and gave us a warm welcome. We all prepared the place in order to accommodate 275 people, so that they could sit together and have iftar. I also made the labourers aware through a speech about the importance of Food and recycling plastics which is being used at a large scale during the month of Ramadan. We also planted many trees and gave old clothes to the laborers who happily accepted it. As soon as the Azaan (call for prayer) was heard, they ended their fast and enjoyed the food. There is no joy bigger than giving someone else a few moments of joy. That?s what Ramadan teaches us and such events are one way of making others happy. |
