Role of Youth in Greener, Healthier and Sustainable Environment.

On the date may 26, 2014, Clean Up Nepal -Chitwan in support of Rotary Club of Narayangarh and Rotract club of Narayangarh  organized a program "Interaction program on Role of Youth in Greener , Healthier environment and Sustainable Development" at Grandee Boarding School in west Chitwan. The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness and awaking students about the role they can play in maintaining cleaner, greener and healthier environment.

Clean Up Nepal with clear vision to inspire and empower the local community, groups, educational institutions, business and local government to carry out community based clean up activities is the first nationwide campaign to clean the country  established in the January of 2013.

Summary of the program

With the participants of 120 from more than 10  school program was inaugurated by welcome speech of  Bel Bahadur Gurung ,  PABSON( Private and Boarding  School Organization , Nepal)   head, Dr. Hom Bahadur from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science ,Principal from Grandee English Boarding School , Rampur,
Chitwan and representatives of Rotatry and Rotract Club of Narayangarh. Afterwards, representing Rotract club, Mr.Shrijan Bastola presented on what is Rotract an Rotary club and what it does. I , as a volunteer of Clean Up Nepal, also  presented on the introduction of clean up Nepal , its aim, vision, activities and dimensions of its work.


Asish Niraula introduced  the issues of population growth, pollution , global warming and Climate change making the participants to realize the urgency of the actions to be implemented to hand over the green planet to the upcoming generations. Similarly, Bindu Bhandari encouraged and energized participants to contribute in the cleaner environment maintenance . She discussed on how can each and every individual play role in cleaner and healthier environment , sustainable development. She also gave some simple but very effective ideas like saying no to plastic bags, creating valuable goods from wastes, making our pocket dustbin,  taking responsibility of one plant , application of 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle)   implementation of 3A(Aware , Awake and Action) etc that can be followed in our daily life.

                                                                  

Finally, the program wrapped with knowing the learnings of  each and every participant and awarding top three with prizes followed by group photo session and commitment of every participants to contribute in cleaner , greener and healthier environment.
