Youth in Collaborative Environment Action

Organised by the Youth and for the Youth, Biiah 2014  invited eminent environmental mentors and experts for panel discussion and a full day interactive environment conference.  I was invited to participate in the panel discussion along with other panelists Ms. Una Chauduri and Mr. David Holland, both NYU Professors and Mr. Shakeel Kazmi an environmental lawyer.

I also led two 45 minutes workshops for high school and university students on the day of the event at NYU Abu Dhabis downtown campus. The workshop aimed to engage the group interestingly to interpret and find solutions to some of the environmental issues that our world faces today. The Green Sheikh- Sheikh Adbul Aziz Bin Ali Al Nuaimi also happily participated in my workshop along with many of the youths attending the event.

Biiah 2014, a one-day event was hosted by Ecoherence New York University Abu Dhabis environmental advocacy group. It witnessed the kickoff to a burgeoning environmental movement in the United Arab Emirates, bringing together students, community members and experts in the region to start a grassroots environmental network. Inviting participants to build upon the energy of Biiah to create a network of passionate young people who were encouraged to start environmental projects in their communities.

Mr. Robert Bradley, Senior Advisor Climate Change at the Directorate of Energy & Climate Change gave an inspiring keynote address.   As one of the innovative, UAE youth environmental movement the event also engaged youth in interactive presentations, Q&A sessions and some great action planning at the end of the day.
