by | 03-05-2014 17:40

On 23rd April  2014, The Emirates Environmental Group Inter School Public Speaking Competition attracted teams from both government and private schools operating in various Emirates. The girls of Our Own English High School, Sharjah were the winners among the teams that spoke on the topic: Green Economy Commitment and Responsibility. Our team consisted of Shraddha Shetty, Aiswarya Roy, Sagarika Dias, Nithia Mary Aisac and Swathy Sanjay Sindhu. The competition was opened to Arabic and English Medium Schools with a bi–lingual panel of judges to judge the contestants.  They were eminent specialists and environmental educators from diverse organisations.   We diffused a strong environmental theory on a very unique way of saving paper. We researched on font sizes and printer ink used for printing. Also also designed a brilliant logo in support of their research.

The EEG Chairperson, Ms. Habiba Al Marashi said, "The Interschool Environmental Public Speaking Competition is a platform to special awareness through knowledge and to encourage the youth to bring forth positive yet, simple life so as to move towards sustainable future." The Competition was in commemoration of the Earth Day, which is celebrated worldwide on April 22nd every year.

The event was supported by Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Village.
