Scientists from UAE created a new type of bio-diesel from lamb fat which can be used for running trucks and cars. They used the leg of an Australian lamb to make the fuel. This eco-fuel can replace the non-renewable fossil fuels which takes millions of years for the formation. Once we burn them or use them, they are gone until the next million years. These fossil fuels are costly too and most of the countries import them at a very high price. But now all the countries who consume lamb meat can now turn the fat wastage from slaughtered lambs into fuels using this technique. This technique works by feeding lamb meat into a machine, which is then pumped with heated, pressurized carbon dioxide that separates the fat from the meat. The fat is then treated with enzymes to produce methyl esters, or biofuel. Using lamb fat for bio-diesel production will not cause any other problems or wastage. After removing the lamb fat, the leftover meat can then be cleaned and sold as reduced-fat lamb in market as it is diet-friendly. |
