by | 24-03-2014 23:57

Wow! It was the wonderful day. On the occasion of World Water Day, 22ndof March 2014, I have been invited to deliver two presentations under Eco-literacy initiative at Roots International School (RIS), Model Town branch, Lahore, Pakistan. In the first session I have presented Energy portion Tunza Eco-generation's School kit to the students of grade 1-4. I have also explained the importance of energy with respect to conservation of water. In the next session, which was the last one as well, Energy and Land Portion of Tunza Eco-generation's School kit has been explained to the students of grade 5 and 6. I have also explained the importance of water with respect to land and energy. Both sessions were amazing and the response of the students was also very awesome. I have also promised the brilliant and active students during these interactive sessions, who have given right answer of my questions, would be awarded accordingly. Students have also promised me that they would save energy and reuse waste again and again so that we could solve the energy and water crisis of our country. On this occasion, innovative projects have also been displayed to reuse and recycle our common household items like plastic bottles, ribbon, tires and plastic bags. Projects were also excellent and I have been impressed by the students' love with the environment.  By using this platform, I have promoted Tunza Eco Generation, UNEP and Samsung engineering as well.

About Eco Literacy Initiative of Roots International School:

RIS – Eco Literacy Initiative offers a broad framework that encompasses a number of different ideas and approaches to learning in, for or about the environment, in pursuit of sustainable development. The purpose of this initiative is not to debate the different definitions, but to encourage a shared acceptance of the diversity of learning approaches. One way of understanding environmental education is to see it as education that engages learners with nature, encourages them to ask questions about the environment, and engage with environmental change.

The aim of this initiative is to
Preserving genetic, species, and ecosystem diversity ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, both now and in the longer term promoting action to reduce pollution and the wasteful exploitation and consumption of resources and energy.
