![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.? MAHATMA GANDHI Water is a source of life and one of the basic necessities that help the World run its course. There are almost 7.127 billion people in the world. Among them 783 million people don?t have access to clean water. More than 20 people are dying daily without getting water to drink. Out of which 10 are children like us. Water is a very important resource on which the world sustains on. But the very fact that this resource is scarce and might disappear from the face if the world by 2050 is necessitating the need for its conservation. The World Water Day is celebrated each year on 22nd, March for the people to show their support. On 21st March, 2014, to celebrate the World Water Day, Green Globe created awareness in at a labour camp in Sonapur, Dubai. We went there as a part of the Medical Camp organized by Prime Medical Centre. Some members of Green Globe spread awareness in various topics including Water Conservation, smoking and consuming alcohol. For them to understand it better, we prepared the awareness speeches in different languages including English, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. For effective propaganda, we showed posters and displayed PowerPoints in our laptops. Most of the laborers being cleaners, they waste a lot of water in the process. We made them understand the importance of conservation of water.
At the end of the day, we felt a sense of satisfaction on having put forward a positive message to the laborers. |
