Save Our Rivers

by | 14-03-2014 03:09

For years and years, gradually, our environmental and geographical conditions have shaped the courses of rivers. The importance of rivers is known to us all. Rivers support cities, towns, industries, constructions and almost anything humans are associated with. Imagining life without rivers is impossible.
However, for quite some time, we have been polluting our rivers beyond dangerous levels. Our rivers now contain harmful industrial effluents, corpse remains, human waste and other such disagreeable foreign bodies. My fellows, here, I am emphasising on the plight of rivers in India. I have with my own eyes, seen my elders throw garbage into the rivers and dispose off the remains of corpses. I have tried to stop them but of no use, Again, here comes the question of awareness. keeping a check on these malicious activities is directly related to our awareness about them. Spreading awareness must be the first step. Implementing various detailed plans must come second. People need to change their ways of thinking about the environment. They need to have respect for where they derive their resources from.
If people come to understand this through our efforts combined with those of the authorities, we can definitely make a difference and clean our rivers.
