His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has said in his tweet, "Today we launched our strategy for transforming Dubai into the smartest city in the world in the upcoming three years. It includes 100 initiatives, and transforming 1,000 government services to smart services in the next three years." The Smart Dubai strategy was launched on Wednesday by HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and General Supervisor of Dubai Smart City Project, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Smart Dubai includes six main focus areas: smart life, smart transportation, smart society, smart economy, smart governance and smart environment. Shaikh Hamdan added, "Mohammad Bin Rashid not only wants to develop services, but wants to change the way people live in Dubai." The project will call for all the public and private sectors to work together to achieve these targets.
"Our goal is for the entire city's services and facilities to be available on smartphones ... we want to provide a better quality of life for all." Shaikh Mohammad has tweeted. Senior officials from various government departments spoke about their organizational changes in the overall "Change initiative". This will involve the integration of all systems in all public and many private organizations. Then will follow the initiative in raising awareness and changing people's perception towards smart services. The strategy relies on three basic principles: communication, integration and cooperation.
"Our ambition is that this project touches the life of everyone in our country, or every mother in her house, or every employee in his work, or every investor in his project, or every child in his school, and doctor in his clinic", Shaikh Mohammed said.
Boosting communication between the people of Dubai and Dubai?s institutions and facilities will occur by bringing together all information and data and replacing the manual processes into smart processes which will reduce waste of resources and also improve the accuracy of transactions. Every resident is expected to have a "my window to Dubai", which offers a live broadcast of the data instantly through a virtual Dubai, with all its institutions, available on the internet.
Very eagerly looking forward to be a proud resident of the smartest city in the world. |
