![]() Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership development program run by Rotary. While participants can be any age, most events focus on secondary school students, university students, or young professionals. RYLA events are typically 3 days long and include presentations, activities, and workshops that cover a variety of topics, including:
Rotary International District 3281 organized RYLA 2014 in Savar, Dhaka. It was four day long leadership development camp. Bangladesh Sports Education Institution hosted the venue. Around hundreds rotaracts from all over the district participated the camp. Participants were assigned into eight groups for all four days. They had to take part in all the events of the program group wise. In four days, participants got the clear knowledge about punctuality. The time for every sessions were maintained very strictly. Everyday rylarians had to woke up early in the morning and take part in the parred. Sessions were taken by famous speakers of different sectors of Bangladesh. TV personality Dr Abdun Nur Tushar, Former Captain of BD Cricket team Raqibul Hasan, Managing Director of HR Kites Saood Bin Masood took different sessions. The sessions were not that much one sided, participants were also active in leadership practice. Everytime camp officials kept their eyes on the participants. I was selected as the team leader of Lotus group. Later i earned the second best team leader award. Not only that my team won the football championship and third best drama awards. My team members also were so active in debate competetion and cricket contest. In the last day of the camp the whole ryla team went to nearby National Memorial of Bangladesh. We saluted the freedom fighter and District Governer Mr. Golam Mostafa in natinal memorial. This type of leadership camp develops the skill of citizens. Young people should engage themselves in such kind of activity so that they can contribute in the socioeconomic development of the sociity. Rotary International has been organizing such RYLA camp all around the world. Rotay has remarkable success in End Polio Now program worlwide. |
