Biology Learning Media Development based on local wisdom for Senior High School Students II

Linkage with the biology of learning content as well as the surrounding community TNGM conditions become very strong value in the biological sciences enriches based on local wisdom . Appointment of the value of learning in school biology course will help learners recognize and understand the potential local and around the existing culture . So expect learners are able to build knowledge for scientific applications based on potential and existing local knowledge around them .

Regarding the above may be pursued through the application of value through learning materials . This is supported by the state of development of teaching materials based on potential or local wisdom in schools is still low . Proved by the results of a survey of researchers at eight different high school in Yogyakarta, which showed only 30 % or 9 of 30 instructional materials used biological or potential based on local wisdom . In addition , interviews with high school biology teacher Pakem High School shows that the teaching materials are used in one of the schools on the slopes of Merapi is a high school biology book published in general .

One effort to address these challenges , it is necessary to biodiversity module development based on local wisdom . Utilization of this module is to support the learning of biology based on local wisdom . Learning is expected to provide local value to students about potential and existing local culture around them.

Based on the above background, the problem can be identified as follows:

1. There is a shortage of teaching materials that elevates local knowledge of biology as a biology teaching material support.

2. The importance of the development of teaching materials based on local wisdom to enhance the students' knowledge of the local potential that exists around them.

3. The importance of maximal removal or enrichment of local wisdom in TNGM as teaching materials biodiversity biological material.

What typed above are my focus now on my research. It is my effort to integrate indigenous knowledge about how to live in harmony with nature in biology learning. Hopefully, the result of this research can build youth awareness about the important of live together with nature, especially for senior high school students.
