I can't believe that GYELS 2014 has ended but all good things come to an end so has GYELS 2014. Although it's over but it's memories are still fresh in my mind and will always remain due to various reasons. These 4-5 days were the best days of my life so far. I got to meet delegates from different parts of the world , got to interact with them and got to know their countries through their nice country presentations . I and Unmesh were from UAE and we were given opportunity to present /introduce our country. It was such a nice feeling talking great things about our country UAE . We took pride in presenting UAE at that global forum.
The 1st GYELS Session on 11th Feb , an ice breaker was so unique and interesting. We picked up our secret friends who remained secret till the last day. It was so much fun right from the 1st day.
The informative lectures by key note speakers were great to listen to . The lecture on photography tips was interesting and left a mark on my mind . Now whenever I am about to click a photo , I know that my photo should have title , subject and emotion. Good to know about architecture of Korean houses from sustainability point of view.
We, 16 delegates, were divided into 4 groups. I was glad to be the Team Leader of my group B. We were given group missions like "environment message through creativity in picture" , "planning a school campaign on sustainable cities" for which we worked for hours and hours in our hotel lobby striving to win the mission and I was glad when my/our group B won the mission.
In PPT party ,it was great to listen to presentations by other delegates on pre-assigned topic "In times of climate change , my dream city , sustainable city". My fellow country-mate Unmesh presented it very well and truly deserved to win the best presentation.
Awarding ceremony was enjoyable as well. Certificates of successful completion are so nicely presented in royal blue colour velvet cover. It looks so royal. I was glad to perform dance on medley of Hindi/Bollywood , English , Arabic and Korean songs. In the last song which was Korean song "Gangnam style" all joined me and warmed up the atmosphere. Everyone was beaming with smile. All the 5 days we were occupied with various interesting stuff like quiz(Green bell) , school campaign project , PPT party , Visit to Head Office of Samsung ,etc. The icing on cake was our last day's visit to Everand park which we enjoyed like anything. During the short 3 hours ride/fun time we were keeping in mind the mission of "Environment message through picture". We wanted to enjoy maximum rides in that 3 hours time and we indeed had gala time and 3 hours flew just like that.
Knowing Korean History , city sight seeing , Seoul Tower and Visit to Palace was nice.
Everything was so well planned , so meticulously organized that we did not have any issues at all. Every moment of my stay was truly enjoyable.
BIG THANKS TO EVERY ONE IN ECO GEN , SAMSUNG ENGG. & KOREA GREEN FOUNDATION who put in so much efforts to make it so successful. Even our Tour guide Ms. Sophie was awesome , so so so helpful , co-operative , charming & caring.
I am falling short of words to express my gratitude to the entire team behind this wonderful event. I miss you all so much.
I wish all the best to all my fellow members that they win next year and get chance to feel & experience such a great global event.
