![]() ![]() ![]() Climate change as general,has got a serious impact in the capital city Kathmandu. The delayed in the seasonal change, rise in temperature, irregular rainfall pattern, smog are some of the examples of it. This has caused a lot of problem among the people living in the city. Respiratory diseases are now common in this region and many problem such as delay in the flights, less agricultural production has made people think something and act accordingly to it. Even the government has started to act accordingly to it although it is late. It has ordered every house to have at least one tree in one house so that they could purify the polluted air. But this program has not been able to implemented as there are many old houses in the city where there is lack of space and planting of tree is impossible. So the government have itself started to plant tree in the public places and specially around the pavements. With the help from various foreigners numerous tree has been planted on airport areas and similarly it has been planted in major other areas. And recently the government has started making public parks in different open areas in the bid to make capital green and clean. Among them the latest program is making a modern park in Tinkune area. This garden will be utilizing the open space and will be opened to the public. The KMC (Kathmandu Municipality) has decided for the construction of the park at Tinkune, reasoning problems surfaced after the driving institutes encroached upon the unused land here. An action plan has been proposed for setting up a statue of Lord Buddha in the park. The estimated cost of the park is Rs 50 million. The KMC has allocated Rs 3 million in the current fiscal year for the same.In the park, there will be a play ground, garden and a water fountain. The park aims to revive the cleanliness and greenery in the area as well utilize the public ground. |
