The 6th International Youth Environmental Forum

Like I wrote in my application form, our environmental group (Hannamu) held the 6th International Youth Environmental Forum (a.k.a IYEF.) Although we were originally planning the event at November, the date a little delayed so we had to delay it until December.

This forum was founded by one of our graduates of this group 6years ago. Since then, we?ve been annually holding this forum to gather up teenagers from around the country to discuss about various environment problems. Although we do have different topics every year, all of them are somehow related to desertification. This year, we decided to make two topics: desertification and climate change.

We had very fascinating topics ranging from sea desertification, all the way to the market of priced carbon dioxide. We at first planned to go through two preliminary evaluations before the final round but, because of some sudden cases where the participants were not able to participate, we decided to go right to the final round. Because of the sudden reduction of participants, we had to also adjust the number of evaluators, the size of the room, and etc.

At the actual date of the forum, a colleague and I took the place of MC. The forum was done in both English, which I did, and Korean which my colleague did. The presentations, which were excellent by the way, were also divided into two presentations done in Korean and two in English. Thankfully, all of the presentations were done as planned and the forum ended successfully!!!
