The trend of one village one product has been practiced nowadays in our country. Different villages are engaged in plantation in one particular type of tree, which are of financial importance and various local organizations as well as local governmental  bodies are supporting the farmers. Following that trend Letang village of Morang district has promotes betel nut and teak tree farming.

As the weather is suitable for betel nut and teak farmer here get a lot of benefit from it and marketing of this is not a problem as many co-operatives are helping the farmers involved in the production. When we were there we could see all the houses with at least three-four betel nut trees and many of them had more than ten. Also the farmer have planted teak tree commercially, covering large amount of farm land.

The people living there told us that they were able to earn some amount of money from those trees and they used this to manage household expenses and to pay for their children stationary. Many organizations come here to provide free training and suggestions to farmers in order to have more productions in future days. The farmers told us that they happy when they got the fruit of their hard work.

Following that trend and with the advice from agricultural expert we donated the farmers living their with Red Scandal wood which has very high demand and is of economic importance. It takes around eight years to grow completely and then farmers can get much of economic support from it.

I hope that our donations would be very helpful to uplift the standard of poor farmers living there.
