I have always been happy to share and learn about cultures around the world. In Nepal today is Saraswati Puja, a day to worship the goddess of education.Saraswati, according to Hinduism, is regarded as a powerful goddess who blesses her devotees with knowledge and wisdom. Today is the day when all the students and academic professionals worship her idol, offer flowers in the temple and eat prasad (fruits and sweets after offering in temples). People visit nearby temples and worship ceremonies are conducted in every educational institutes. In my college also, worship ceremonies was held in the morning.
Another important event today is World Cancer Day. The theme of World Cancer Day 2014 is "Debunk the myths Reduce stigma and dispel Myths about cancer." The various myths of cancer are

• We don't need to talk about cancer
• There are no signs and symptoms
• There is nothing that can be done about cancer
• People thinking that they don't have rights to cancer care
