Poster & Notices Disposal Campaign

by | 30-01-2014 23:16

On the behalf of Tunza Eco-generation, I have started ?Posters and Notices Disposal Campaign? in my college, Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science/Rampur campus, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal from the date of 30th December, 2013. The main objective of the campaign is to dispose the posters and notices that have crossed their deadlines so that both the efficiency and environmental cleanliness is maintained and improved. Furthermore, the campaign will also enforce the sustainability of the disposal by encouraging people and organizations to dispose their own posters and notices after the work has been accomplished.

SUMMARY OF THE START UP OF THE CAMPAIGN

I along with my helping hands Miss Swikriti Pandey, Miss Shilu Dahal, Miss Prativa Chhetri, Miss Asmita Gautam, Miss Madhu Ojha, Miss Ishwora Dhungana and Miss Susmita Subedi started removing outdated posters and notices from hostels, college notice boards, trees etc. We removed hundreds of notices and more than 20 posters. We were surprised to see the notices still hanging which have been outdated more than three years ago. Besides, we found out the decaying situation of notice boards due to age old burdens.

After the removal, the unwanted posters and notices were disposed in college dumping site. We have also raised voices on the college websites and facebook pages to take the responsibilities of own notices and posters and to help minimize pollution. In days to come, we will be monitoring the changes.

CONCLUSION

Overcrowded posters and notices in notice boards, trees, walls and even on the classroom doors creates nuisance. These outdated materials create a dirty sight and affect the effectiveness of the information to be reached to concerned people. Thus, proper disposal of these materials is as much of necessity as disposal of other wastes.

A clean environment is not only healthy but also pleasing to sight and mind. The campaign will hopefully take the initiatives to enforcement. The challenges of possibilities of people not following it in a long run remain. Let us hope the pollution and disgust due to unwanted posters and notices will be minimized.
