An encouraging news . In 2012 , full audit of Abu Dhabi (UAE's capital) energy sector was done . 70 high rise buildings were identified. The audit resulted in demonstrating that 16% of energy on these building can be saved and 15% water usage can be saved so total 30% energy saving by installing smart technology energy solutions by global leader in energy management i.e. Schneider Electric. This is impressive . If all equipment suppliers start developing energy efficient products , then consumers who care for energy/environment would not have availibility issues. With wide and abundant availibility , prices also may be affordable. Infact slowly companies should stop producing energy hogging products and should only produce energy optimisers/efficient products. Factories should be inspected to ensure this. Also local governments should give tax benefits/incentives to environment friendly manufacturers. This would reduce the price and promote buying green products . Governments should put aside some funds for Green living (like Environment Budget etc.) If everyone in the chain( -from factories-suppliers-traders-consumers -governments) are equally mindful of environment then the day is not far that Global warming would be defeated. |
