![]() As we are in Christmas days, let me talk a little about the artificial Christmas trees and the natural ones in Rwanda. Few years ago, the government of Rwanda through Rwanda Environment Management Authority has forbidden to use or to cut trees for making a Christmas tree in order to protect the environment against forest degradation. In Rwanda especially in Kigali nowadays Christians use to buy the artificial Christmas trees on Christ for their homes or for public places and the natural ones are no more used even if we can not say that any person doesn't use natural trees, in Kigali you can find some places where they have used the natural trees. For Christians, Christmas is a very great day where they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ who is the foundation of Christianity. For Christians, Christ is the savior, born in Nazareth (Jerusalem) there are 2014 years and left to the earth at 33 years old. Born like all humans by the virgin Mary but his life was different he has never committed a sin. His lifelong has been a big tragedy of education even if we can say that a life of 33 years is very short. His word has been spread all over the world and we have also Christians in Rwanda. In Kigali in the end of the 2013, Christmas trees has been sold at a high number because around 70% of Rwandan citizens are Christians and it is a wish to every Christian to celebrate the Christmas day. Cerebrated on 25th December 2013, the Christmas has been a great wonderful, joyful and happy day ever. Christians used to have evening prayers on the day before and day prayers on the Christmas, after they celebrate the party with friends in their homes or else where they wish. A natural Christmas trees is formed by parts of a fresh natural tree: in Rwanda we used cypress trees, young banana plants and herbs. And you can get the quantity of vegetation which would be taken from the nature on Christmas as our country is very populated. This high number of Christmas trees which has been sold shows that Rwandans have understood this policy of protecting the environment by non-illegal tree cutting. And I say congratulation to the government for its effort is putting in Environment protection within the country and his environment agency Rwanda Environment Management Authority. Happy New Years 2014 to all and Merry Christmas to Christians. Here is a photo of a natural Christmas tree. |
