An overview of my activities as Ambassador to Sierra Leone

by | 01-01-2014 00:38

It is the final month of 2013, a year that has been filled with various activities for both Tunza Eco generation and Forum for the Development of young people. Taking a reminisce at the year in perspective, in September I was appointed the 11th Eco generation ambassador to my beautiful Country, Sierra Leone. As an Ambassador, I was able to work with some schools in the Freetown municipality which is the Capital City, provide a strong advocacy base for various secondary schools in the city as well as promote a partnership stride with the Environmental Protection Agency 0f Sierra Leone (EPA-SL) which is still pending to be approved by the relevant authorities.

In 2014 which has 2 months left in my ambassadorial position for my country, I will not relent in my activities. These two months will be used to propel the campaign against filth and debris in Freetown, Sierra Leone and possibly extend my campaign to some parts of the rural areas. Since becoming an ambassador, I have been in constant touch with some schools which have established school clubs in their institutions of learning which includes but not limited to St. Joseph?s Convent Secondary School, Lumley High School and St. Edwards Secondary School. In 2014, we shall be looking at having school clubs in the Annie Walsh  Memorial School which is the oldest girls secondary school in British West Africa established in 1814, the Sierra Leone Grammar School established in 1812, Fourah Bay College the oldest university in 1827 to recruit more agents of change especially with regards to our environmental safety procedures.

All of these are the main source of inspiration for the future. This is due to the fact that, our progress as a people can never be swifter than our progress in environmental safety. If we want to acquire the desire that you admire, you must retire if in the process you perspire you must retire to acquire the desire that you admire. We can never relent in our decisions to make a change especially in our age of development and progress we must never relent in making our ecosystem and environment worth living. On this note, let me wish all of us in the team of ambassadors and my readers a happy new year 2014 and hope to share more of my experiences when we meet at the youth conference in South Korea.
