![]() Desember 22, 2013, I invited a panel session at Ashoka Young Changmakers 2013. This activity is a continuation of the program selection phase elections Young Changemakers Ashoka Indonesia. Here I was invited as participants who presented a project that has been implemented. Since 2005, through the Young Changemakers program, Ashoka selects and supports young people aged 12-25 years to develop social initiatives. This program not only provides an opportunity for young people to gain experience recognizing and practicing the principles of social entrepreneurship, but also helps them transform their youth into future power and skilled in applying empathy, working in groups, be a leader, and be able to make changes. Project that I?ve present in panel session is Gadjah Wong Community. I start this project in 2012 with a focus on save the Gajah Wong river sustainability. Through waste management, we aim we can protect Gajah Wong river, life therein and the quality of human life that live in the surrounding. In this project, we have many activities. Seminar on waste sorting and recycling, composting field studies, making simple garbage bank and community service cleaning garbage from the river. We invite local people to be involved in the implementation of the project. We also gain other communities who concern about Gajah Wong river to work together. It's been a year of this project has been running. It can say that this is the beginning phase of a project. On the basis of this, we encourage all parties to work together to build this project. |
