Bioengineering is one of the techniques of environment conservation which is being recently practiced largely all over the world including Nepal. Bioengineering combines plants and engineering techniques to conserve and protect the environment. Some of the examples of bioengineering are use of plants like broomstick on the sloppy lands that can control erosion, use of trees to control flood in an engineering way. Bioengineering is practiced in order to give sustainable and effective solutions to natural erosions like landslides, flood etc. Bioengineering techniques are sometimes little costly and it seems that people choose easier methods for conservation but in long run, it is very fruitful. Bioengineering can be combined with commercialization. For example, in Ilam, Nepal tea is planted which prevents erosion and is traded commercially at the same time. More innovations and amendments can be made with bioengineering.
