Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) are innovative machines that provide a means for individuals to recycle and give back to the environment. They accept empty plastic bottles, aluminum cans, light bulbs and domestic batteries and in return, grant reward vouchers. RVMs are interactive, with touch screen capabilities . RVMs are located at five high-footfall locations across the city as well as other emirates in the UAE.

I have been collecting aluminium cans and plastic bottles to be recycled through these RVMs so that I can contribute to Bee'ah's mission "ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL BY 2015". Today I went and recycled 100 cans , 30 plastic bottles. Its great to be a part of such environment initiatives/program. I have been spreading word about these machines to my friends around so that everyone is aware of such nice machines available as easy means to recycle.

If each of us is mindful of our waste management habits , then it's not difficult to achieve such missions like zero waste to landfill.
