Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water , the GREEN MIDDLE EAST conference is the region?s leading forum on environmental issues , with leading experts speaking on : - the latest environmental regulations and frameworks and how they are advancing in the region - the recent strategies that countries across the MENA region are implementing to reduce pollution, control emission levels and reduce carbon footprint - the role of regional governments and ministries in investing and advocating recycling and waste management projects - the newest recycling projects in the MENA region to understand the involvement of the private sector The conference was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah . It was an immense honour and privilege for me to invited to speak at this important summit . I was a panelist at the discussion on ?Outlook on waste management across the MENA region? . My fellow panelists included the Head of Solid Waste department of Sharjah Municipality and the Managing Director Waste Process & Treatment of Bee?ah . In my speech I spoke on sustainable consumption and the need for all stakeholders of civil society to be an inclusive part of the engagement in the sustainable development dialogue. It was also a great pleasure to meet and share my work with the Arab singing superstar Mr Ragheb Alama who is also a UNEP Goodwill Ambassador. |
