Water Pollution in Buriganga, Bangladesh

by | 30-11-2013 20:26

Water is one of the vital elements of our environment. So our life becomes hazardous when the water around us, getscontaminated. So basically in Bangladesh the most major cause of water pollution is indiscriminative garbage in water sources. Also the wastage discharged from the tannery areas situated in Hazaribag, Dhaka is playing a major role polluting Dhaka city and the mother river Buriganga.

We are not conscious of this matter. Our mother river, pride of our Dhaka city Buriganga is becoming a river of black water. There a few numbers of species in the river and others are gone. Drainage line of whole Dhaka city is directly and indirectly connected to river. So the water of the river is polluting day by day.

PH range of  the water of Buriganga is  6.69 to 8.14 which is not sufficient for living species so they are gone.

The government should conscious about this matter because we have to save our Buriganga our mother river our pride.
