My article for the school magazine

"Mr. William Smith (a random person) is 56 years old. He cannot climb a flight of stairs. He has lost all his teeth. His throat always feels sore. His doctor has found a spot on his lung X-Rays. Mr. William Smith may not see his 57th birthday. If he does, he will not have the strength to blow out the candles on his birthday cake"........................

In earlier times cigarettes and other tobacco containing products were used pretty much any where, even in hospitals. Now we know how bad smoking is, so it is restricted or banned in almost all public places. Using tobacco cause cancer but people still use it. Do you know why? The answer is addiction. A cigarettes contains about 4600 chemicals most of them which are poisonous. Smoking causes a wide number of diseases varying from cancer to teeth problems. Up to 5% of infant death could be prevented if pregnant women did not smoke. Youths are also a main cause of concern. The current statistics show that more than 3900 youths draw to smoking per day. Youths draw towards smoking for a number of reasons: To look cool, to act older, to lose weight and for a number of other reasons. So it is important that youths don?t smoke. Smokers not only reduce their lifespan but also of the people around them through passive smoking through passive smoking. The world no tobacco day is celebrated every year on May 31st. It is meant to encourage a 24 hour period abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe.

Not all can stop smoking habit but it is possible to give a try through many organizations but it also requires a lot of hard work, determination and willpower. Anyway, as prevention is always better than cure so it is better not to start smoking than rather starting it and then trying to stop it.
