 Emirates Environment Group (EEG) is instrumental in bringing recycling awareness in UAE and specially among the students and corporate groups...As a part of their yearlong initiatives, these days many corporate groups have also come up in support of the initiative as a part of their social responsibilities. Radison Blu (Sharjah) has joined EEG since last couple of years and this year, I joined them... Today (16th. Nov) was the day dedicated for aluminium can collection campaign. EEG has set the target of collecting 225,000 kg of aluminum cans for the entire year...various corporate sector and the communities including students/schools are requested to join the initiative. When I reached Radison Hotel (Sharjah) in the morning, surprisingly, they greeted me loudly as I was the 1st visitor!!! Slowly various school buses started reaching the collection venue with their loads of collection. Then came the colourful staffs from "MacDonalds" with their huge collection and so on... It was a great morning dedicated towards making our planet green...I understand from EEG's facebook post that during the day, more than 6000 kg of aluminum cans have been collected in various collection centers.
