November: The Northern Glaciers.

by | 18-11-2013 01:18

Hello friends,

It is November. The month of change is upon us. For most of us we notice changing weather, the leaves as the change from emerald green to ruby red. Maybe we notice ourselves changing to respond to these natural changes as well. Every year we expect that the air will turn cooler around this time of year. Every year we prepare for this. As you can see we are ultimately linked to the environment. Our everyday actions are influenced by the environment.

In Canada we notice weather changes very dramatically. In November, as we approach winter we must extensively prepare and brace for all winter brings. We cannot imagine not preparing for winter, we cannot imagine a life without winter. No winter, No snow, no cold, no ice?! Could this be our world with climate change?

This month we explore the answer to this question by examining one of the greatest marvels in the world: the glacier. The massive, dominating mass of ice that whose existence predates not only humans but all life on earth. By analysing the glacier we can truly find out the impacts that global warming has on the north, discover the future of snow and ice on earth. So come, we will explore. Come we will discover. Discover the truths of nature, the truths of water, and the truths of global warming.
