Oct. 30, Patna: I and my team members- Manisha, an 11th grade student, Ankur, also an 11th grade student, Aditya, an 11th grader and Yagya, a 9th grader visited Tarumitra, a bio reserve in Patna. We met Father Robert, who is the founder of Tarumitra. He told us about the importance of biodiversity. He also told us about the on going projects in the bio reserve. Then he introduced us to Miss Margaret, who is a Research Scientist.
Tarumitra has a rich biodiversity. It has more than 450 varieties of plants. There are tall trees, short herbs and many medicinal plants in the campus like Amla, Aswagandha,Guggul,Giloe, Kalmegh etc. The guide told us about the importance of these plants.
There are four houses in the campus which have been named after the four seasons "Sharad" for winter, "Grishm" for summer, "Basant" for Autumn and "Barsa" for rainy season. The houses are very beautifully built and are eco-friendly. It's very cool inside the house and one feels very comfortable. The place is very beautiful and green. It was a very nice experience visiting Tarumitra.
