    Green Hope UAE members firmly believe in sustainable development which is possible only if its three pillars of economy, society and environment work in harmony. Thus upliftment of society and participation in social causes remain one of our key focus areas. This is also our contribution towards the achievement of MDG 1 ( Millennium Development Goal # 1 ) which is Eradication of Poverty .We regularly participate in these drives , with the aim of benefitting the labourers who work silently and away from the public eye to build this beautiful city which is home to us. The "Box Appeal " drive , organised by the Radisson Blu hotel group , is one such uniquely successful event which is now in its 6th year. The concept is simple yet alluring. Volunteers need to fill in cardboard boxes with a set of 11 daily use items and these are then handed over to labourers. Each box has the line "small box , big difference" written on it and truly encapsulates the message that it is indeed a box full of good wishes. Our members enthusiastically teamed up and using their pocket money , collected items to fill up several boxes which we then handed over to Radisson Blu Marina hotel. It was a very fulfilling experience , firstly choosing the items and then packing them and we pledged to continue participating in such noble ventures. Gulf News published our article which further helped to spread awareness and build outreach about this initiative.
